419-4942 20 Volt Speed Sensor
The Cat® drive shaft speed sensor measures the rotational speed of the vehicle drive shaft to provide data to the traction control system
Description
The Cat Hall-effect dual sensor has 2 Hall-effect elements. The elements are spaced to produce waveforms that are 90° (electrical degrees) out of phase. The target gear must be designed to match the Hall cell spacing, or the Hall cell spacing must be designed to match the pitch of the target gear teeth. This enables direction detection. Signal A leads signal B, or vice versa.
Features
- Two Hall-effect elements
- Two outputs, 4 wires (power, return, signal A, signal B)
- Phase shift between the two output signals provides direction
- Available in fixed nose length version only
Applications
- For applications requiring detection of zero or near-zero speed.
- Hydraulic steering motor
