237-2555 Radiator Aftercooler Core
Cat® Radiator Aftercooler Core with Air-to-Air Aftercooler
Description
The radiator aftercooler core, also known as the intercooler core, is the central component of the radiator aftercooler and cools compressed air before it enters the engine intake manifold. An air-to-air aftercooler is designed to cool compressed air by passing it through a series of tubes or fins that are cooled by the surrounding ambient air. This cooling process helps lower the temperature of the compressed air, increasing its density and allowing more oxygen to enter the combustion chamber.
Attributes
- Comes with 4 mounting holes for use with M10 fasteners
- Withstands high temperatures and pressures in the assembly
- Offers a core with 6 fins per inch and turbulators with 19.6 fins per inch to efficiently transfer heat from the compressed air to the surroundings
Applications
The radiator aftercooler core is used to cool compressed air and increase its density before it enters the combustion chamber, optimizing the performance and efficiency of turbocharged engines.
