153-6849 20 mm Diameter Compression Spring

Cat® 20 mm Diameter Compression Spring

SKU: 153-6849 Category:

Description

Compression springs come in a variety of strengths and sizes to suit specific applications. Compression springs feature a helical design that gains compression and tension through spring compression (shortening) as more weight is applied. Compression springs are designed for applications where two components are trying to push toward each other. Compression springs are characterized by an hourglass shape when wound on an automatic coiler; therefore, outside/inside tolerances apply only to the end coils. They are open-coil helical springs wound or constructed to resist compression along the axis of wind. These helical springs can work independently but are often assembled over a guide rod or fitted inside a bore.

Attributes

  • Manufactured to exact specifications, designed to ensure durability, reliability and lifetime productivity.
  • The coil direction is right-hand.
  • Spring Rate: 2.47 Nm/mm.

Applications

Compression springs store energy within the spring for use in machines and shops. Compression springs are available in many types, including barrel, conical, and double-conical springs.
