273-6814 95.11 mm Straight Sleeve Bearing
Cat® 95.11 mm OD Straight Sleeve Bearing for Hoe Sticks
Description
A straight sleeve bearing is a sliding contact bearing in which the surface of the shaft slides on the surface of the bushing. It consists of a cylindrical sleeve with a smooth inner surface that allows the shaft to rotate within it with minimal friction. Oil grooves cut into the bearing surface help distribute oil between the friction surfaces.
Attributes
- Sintered for improved strength and self-lubricating quality
- Accommodates misalignment between shaft and bearing surfaces
- Comes with 4 oil holes of size 6 mm
- High resistance to shock loads, minimizing vibration (and therefore noise)
Applications
Straight sleeve bearings are suitable for applications where press-fitting into a housing bore is the most practical method of bearing retention. They are used in crankshaft bearings of gasoline and diesel engines, centrifugal pumps, and large electric motors.
