The hydraulic piston assembly is used for attachment to the hydraulic rod assembly.
Features
The purpose of the hydraulic piston assembly is to separate the two opposing pressure zones in the hydraulic cylinder assembly. The piston assembly contains machined grooves that hold wear rings, which sit on the inner surface of the cylinder assembly and prevent damage and scoring of the piston or cylinder assembly. The piston also contains machined grooves that hold seals. The seals prevent pressurized oil from moving the piston assembly from one side of the cylinder chamber to the other.

This type of hydraulic cylinder insert is typically used when the hydraulic cylinder is in an application with sustained heavy loads, such as tilt cylinders on large track-type tractors.
