Description
A heat exchanger gasket is a gasket that covers the gap between two or more mating surfaces, typically used to prevent the connected parts from leaking outward or inward under compression. Gaskets are usually made from flat sheet material such as paper, rubber, silicone, metal, cork, felt, neoprene, nitrile, fiberglass, polytetrafluoroethylene (also known as PTFE or Teflon), or plastic polymers (such as polychlorotrifluoroethylene).
