7T-6993 467 mm OD Torque Converter Turbine
Cat® 467 mm OD Torque Converter Turbine
Description
The torque converter turbine is an important component of an automatic transmission system and is located inside the torque converter group. The turbine is made up of curved blades or vanes, and its main function is to convert fluid energy from the impeller into rotational energy. As oil is directed onto the turbine, the vanes capture the oil and change its direction of flow, causing the turbine to rotate. This rotational energy is then transferred to the transmission input shaft, delivering power from the engine to the wheels. Working together with the impeller and the stator, the turbine plays a vital role in optimizing the efficiency of the torque converter system. Modern torque converter turbines incorporate a lockup clutch that creates a direct mechanical connection between the engine and the transmission at higher speeds, improving fuel efficiency.
Features
- Optimizes fluid flow and rotational energy transfer.
- Withstands high rotational forces and fluid pressure.
Applications
The torque converter turbine is widely used in heavy-duty vehicles and light trucks with automatic transmissions. It allows smooth power transfer and efficient vehicle operation.
