Description
A gasket is a seal used to fill the space between two or more mating surfaces, typically used to prevent leakage into or out of the joined objects while under compression. Gaskets are usually made from flat material or sheet, such as paper, rubber, silicone, metal, cork, felt, neoprene, nitrile rubber, fiberglass, polytetrafluoroethylene (also known as PTFE or Teflon), or a plastic polymer (such as polychlorotrifluoroethylene).
