7M-7244 11.35 mm ID Compression Spring

Cat® 11.35 mm ID Compression Spring Used in Governor Assembly

SKU: 7M-7244 Categories: ,

Description

The compression spring is used between the plug and the plunger of the governor. A compression spring is a helically designed spring that gains compression and tension by compressing (shortening) as more weight is applied. One of the greatest advantages of a compression spring is its ability to resist the movement of another component. Compression springs are used in mechanical systems because they provide a more efficient method of storing energy, and their resistance changes smoothly over time.

Attributes

  • Manufactured to precise technical specifications for excellent durability, reliability, and productivity throughout service life
  • 13 total coils and 11 active coils.
  • Square ends are provided because they give the spring security and stability, allowing it to seat on the equipment or component and be ground at 270°.
  • Solid length of 9.91 mm helps it withstand loads without deforming or buckling.
  • Right-hand helical coil helps maintain its shape and stability.

Applications

The compression spring is used inside the pump and in any component of the governor assembly where energy needs to be stored in a spring.
