5P-3401 166.47 mm ID Toric Seal Ring
Cat® Toric Seal
Description
Ring Description: A toric ring is a mechanical seal
used in a variety of industrial applications to prevent liquid or gas leakage. The toric seal ring consists of a ring-shaped component made of a flexible material, such as an elastomer or polymer. When the toric ring is installed in a sealing arrangement, it is compressed between two flat surfaces to form a seal that prevents liquid or gas from leaking through the space between the surfaces.
Features
- Flexible design.
- Designed to withstand high levels of compression without losing shape or sealing performance.
- Resistant to wear and chemical attack.
Applications
Toric ring seals are commonly used in pumps to prevent fluid leakage, especially in high-pressure applications that require a reliable seal. It is used on Cat 14M, 16, 16G, 16H, 16M, 18, and 18M engine ratings and on 30/30, D8L, D9N, D9R, D9T, and DEUCE Track-Type Dozers.

| Material Description | Silicone provides excellent performance over a wide temperature range (from very low to moderately high temperatures), performs exceptionally in air applications and is also compatible with engine oil. It has limited strength and abrasion/cut resistance, so it is best used in low-pressure applications. Silicone must not be used with diesel fuel, coolant/urea, hydraulic oil, automatic transmission fluid or biodiesel. |
