5J-1389 0.438″ OD Compression Spring
Cat® 0.438 in OD compression spring used in hydraulic control valves to provide the force needed to open or close the valve
Description
A compression spring is a mechanical spring used to resist the compressive load applied to it. When a compressive force is applied, the coils are compressed and the spring stores energy. The compression spring is cylindrical, with helical coils wound tightly to resist compression. It is located between the plug and the seal in the hydraulic control valve.
Attributes
- Withstands mechanical stress, temperature changes and exposure to hydraulic oil
- A total of 8 coils in a right-hand helix helps maintain strength and stability
Applications
A compression spring is used in the hydraulic control valve to provide the necessary restoring force to control hydraulic oil flow and ensure proper valve operation.
