Description
A tapered roller bearing is a rolling-contact bearing consisting of rolling elements in the form of truncated cones. Tapered roller bearings have a separable construction. The outer ring is called the "cup" and the inner ring is called the "cone". The outer ring can be separated from the rest of the bearing element assembly, including the rollers, cage and inner ring.
Attributes
- Heavy-duty radial and thrust load capacity
- High radial and axial rigidity, making it suitable for applications requiring high precision and accuracy
- Low starting and running friction
Applications
Tapered roller bearings are used to prevent direct metal-to-metal contact between two elements in relative motion, thereby reducing wear on parts.
