519-8020 9PK Serpentine Belt
Cat® 4.29 mm Thick Rubber 9PK Serpentine Belt
Description
The serpentine belt is also known as an auxiliary drive belt, fan drive belt, and drive belt. The belt can pass over more than three pulleys with a wrap angle large enough to avoid slippage, including an idler pulley that presses against the back of the belt, forcing the belt into a serpentine shape. The belt is long and winds through multiple pulleys.
Features
- Wear resistant.
- Provides 9 reinforcing ribs for better grip and reduced slippage.
- The effective length of the belt is 1540 ± 6 mm.
- Made of flexible materials, such as rubber or synthetic polymers, so it can bend and coil.
- Uses Orion Rib compound, a carbon black rubber that helps achieve a good balance of wear resistance.
Applications
The serpentine belt is used in accessory drives connected to various components, such as the alternator and fan drive with idler pulleys.
