4W-7991 31.7 mm Diameter Compression Spring
Cat® 31.7 mm Diameter Compression Spring Used in Fuel Transfer Pumps
Description
The compression spring is designed to resist compressive force when compressed. The load capacity of a compression spring is the maximum force or load the spring can handle without permanent deformation or failure. The coils are closely spaced, and each coil exerts a force on the adjacent coil.
Attributes
Provides a smooth, consistent force throughout the compression and expansion cycle.
Helps dampen vibration and shock
Applications
The compression spring is used to apply force to hold the valve closed and open it when needed, helping to regulate fuel flow through the pump. It is used primarily on Cat® 3516B, 3606, 3608, 3612, 3616 and 3618 Engines (Piston), 3608 Generators (Power).
