Description
The oil level gauge (dipstick) has a ring or handle at one end to make it easy to insert into and remove from the engine. This refers to the position of the dipstick relative to the engine. On different machine models, the dipstick may be located on different sides of the engine; "Left" means it is on the left side when facing the engine from the front. The other end is marked with indicators showing the minimum and maximum oil levels. It has additional markings indicating the optimal engine oil level under specific conditions, such as when the engine is hot or cold. To use it, insert it into the engine's oil reservoir or oil pan, then remove it. Then check the oil on the dipstick against the markings to determine whether the oil level is within the recommended range. If the oil level is low, additional oil can be added until the optimal level is reached.
