Description
The electric starting motor is used to initiate the starting process of an internal combustion engine. When the engine is at rest, its internal parts (such as the crankshaft, pistons, and camshaft) are stationary and require external torque to get them moving. The starting motor provides this necessary torque to crank the engine, which ignites the fuel-air mixture and starts the engine running.
Attributes
- Withstands repeated starting cycles and environmental conditions
- Reduces power consumption during starting and minimizes stress on the electrical system and battery
Applications
The electric starting motor provides the initial mechanical force needed to set the engine components in motion, thereby starting the engine.
