Description
The engine oil level gauge (dipstick) has a ring or handle on one end to make it easy to insert into and remove from the engine. The other end is marked with indicators showing the minimum and maximum oil levels. It has additional markings that indicate the optimal engine oil level under specific conditions, such as when the engine is hot or cold. To use it, insert it into the engine oil reservoir or oil pan and then remove it. Then check the oil on the dipstick against the markings to determine whether the oil level is within the recommended range. If the oil level is low, additional oil can be added until the optimal level is reached.
