385-0249 968.1 mm Long Oil Level Gauge (Dipstick)
Cat® 968.1 mm Long Engine Oil Level Gauge (Dipstick)
Description
The oil level gauge dipstick is used in internal combustion engines to measure the oil level in the engine oil pan. A dipstick is typically a long, thin metal rod with markings indicating the minimum and maximum oil levels. To use the oil level gauge dipstick, the engine must be shut off and allowed to cool for a few minutes. Remove the dipstick from the tube, wipe it clean with a rag, and reinsert it into the tube. Then remove the dipstick again and read the oil level by looking at the markings on the dipstick.
