384-3888 2-Wire Hall Effect Speed Sensor

Cat® Hall effect speed sensor measures and monitors rotational speed and provides essential data

SKU: 384-3888 Category:

Description

Cat current loop speed sensors operate on the same Hall effect principle as single and dual Hall effect sensors. Unlike traditional single and dual Hall sensors, which are designed to produce a specific voltage output, current loop sensors are designed to produce a specific current level output. Because current always flows through the sensor (the amount varies depending on whether a tooth or a slot is in front of the sensor), the system can use diagnostic functions to detect whether a sensor is connected.

Features

  • Two Hall elements (Hall differential setup)
  • One output, 2 wires (power, signal)
  • The current loop sensor is the preferred, lowest-cost active speed sensor
  • Available in fixed nose length version only

Applications

  • For applications requiring detection of zero or near-zero speed.
  • Transmission output speed
  • Rotational speed
  • Timing
  • Propulsion Motor
