Description
The single-section gear pump in the powertrain is used to deliver fluids such as transmission oil. The pump consists of a set of interlocking gears mounted in the pump body and driven by the engine or an electric motor. As the gears rotate, they create a vacuum that draws oil from the oil reservoir. The oil is then pressurized and directed to the transmission gears.
