318-1180 Magnetic Speed Sensor
Cat® wiring harness magnetic high-output speed sensor is used to detect vehicle speed and is suitable for multiple systems in the wiring harness
Description
Cat passive speed sensors do not require any external power supply. The output signal is alternating current, and the waveform function of the actuator is generally sinusoidal in nature. Both voltage and frequency are proportional to the surface speed of the actuator as it passes the sensor pole piece. Nylon is injected through the housing into a mold over the magnet and coil.

Applications
- High position accuracy; not recommended for applications below 50 rpm

- Typical applications include engine camshaft and transmission output
