Description
The Cat piston oil ring is a split ring that fits into a groove in the outside diameter of the piston body, below the intermediate ring and the oil ring. The piston ring forms a seal between the piston body and the cylinder wall, preventing combustion cylinder gases from leaking into the crankcase, maintaining a stable lubricating oil level between the cylinder wall and the piston, and regulating engine oil consumption by scraping oil from the cylinder wall back to the sump.
