297-0350 18 mm Diameter Compression Spring
Cat® 18 mm Diameter Valve Compression Spring
Description
The compression spring is the most easily recognized spring, designed to resist compaction in the direction of its axis. The spring is extended at rest; under load it shortens and stores energy, making it one of the most effective energy storage devices available. Traditionally, they are wound with uniform pitch and diameter, but today these characteristics vary widely.
Attributes
- Springs meet or exceed current standards and material grades.
- Manufactured to exact specifications, designed to ensure durability, reliability and lifetime productivity.
- Closed and ground spring ends provide better seating.
Applications
The compression spring is used to control fluid flow by changing the size of the flow passage in response to signals from the controller. Used for anything that requires energy to be stored in the machine and in the shop. Compression springs are available in many types, including cylindrical, conical, and double-conical springs.
