Cat® fan drive pulley transfers power from the engine crankshaft to the cooling fan, allowing the fan to rotate and draw air through the radiator.
Description
The fan drive pulley is a drive component used in heavy machinery and vehicles to manage the cooling system. The fan drive pulley regulates the speed of the cooling fan according to engine temperature. When the engine heats up, it engages the fan clutch, making the fan spin faster and allowing more air to flow through the radiator to cool the engine. Conversely, when the engine cools down, it disengages the clutch, thereby reducing fan speed and saving engine power. By regulating fan speed, the pulley helps improve fuel efficiency.
