Cat® Water Pump Used in Engine Front Housing
Description
The water pump group is a simple centrifugal pump, usually driven by a belt on the crankshaft, that continuously circulates coolant while the engine is running, pushing coolant from the pump into the engine. Cat water pumps are designed to meet the flow and pressure requirements within the engine and have been extensively tested to ensure coolant flow and pressure meet engine requirements.

Applications
The Cat water pump group pushes water through the engine jacket water cooling system and transfers water from an external water source into the machine water tank of the Cat engine. Refer to your Operation and Maintenance Manual or contact MECHSC for more information.
