Cat® 124.94 mm bore piston skirt for use in pistons and connecting rods
Description
The piston skirt provides a smooth sliding surface for the piston and helps reduce friction between the piston and the cylinder wall. It is typically located at the bottom of the piston, just above the piston pin. It extends down into the cylinder and contacts the cylinder wall as the piston moves up and down.
