Description
The purpose of the hydraulic piston is to separate the two opposing pressure zones in the hydraulic cylinder assembly. The piston contains machined grooves for wear rings, which are located on the inner surface of the cylinder assembly and prevent damage and scoring to the piston or cylinder assembly. The piston assembly also contains machined grooves that accommodate seals. The seals prevent pressurized oil from moving the piston from one side of the cylinder chamber to the other.
