1L-9064 6.4 mm ID Air Starter Valve Piston
Cat® 6.4 mm ID Rubber Air Starter Valve Piston for Starter Motors
Description
The air starter valve piston is used to start diesel engines. The piston is made of rubber and has a series of grooves on its surface. The grooves hold air. The piston is connected to a connecting rod, which in turn is connected to a connecting rod. When air is pumped into the cylinder, it enters the cylinder and pushes the piston down. The connecting rod then converts the piston's linear motion into rotation of the connecting rod. This causes the connecting rod to move, opening and closing the valve that controls airflow to the engine.
