Description
Backup rings can prevent seal extrusion in high-pressure applications and help protect the life of the overall sealing system under sudden pressure changes.
Features
Cat® backup rings are designed together with the elastomeric seal and mating components, significantly improving the life and performance of sealing systems in high-pressure applications. Depending on application requirements, they can be solid or split rings.
Backup ring dimensions strictly follow tight tolerances, ensuring they properly bridge the seal groove and the mating surfaces. Materials are selected based on their pressure resistance and wear resistance.
