Cat® backup rings are designed together with the elastomeric seal and mating components and contribute greatly to the life and performance of sealing systems in high-pressure applications.
Backup ring dimensions strictly follow tight tolerances, ensuring they properly bridge the seal groove and the mating surfaces. Materials are selected based on their pressure resistance and wear resistance.
Backup rings are available in two types: closed rings and split rings. Split rings are used to ensure ease of installation.
