Cat® backup rings are designed around the characteristics of the elastomeric seal and mating components and contribute greatly to the life and performance of sealing systems in high-pressure applications.
Backup ring dimensions strictly adhere to tight tolerances, ensuring they properly bridge the seal groove and the mating surfaces. Materials are selected based on their pressure resistance and wear resistance.
Backup rings can be closed rings or split rings. Split rings are used to ensure ease of installation.
