Description
The heat shield (such as 230-2197) is mounted on the exhaust manifold to insulate sensitive engine components from high exhaust system temperatures. The heat shield uses a layer of fiber mat insulation on an Inconel backing plate, with a silicone-impregnated fiberglass cloth cover and hook and spring tethers.
The heat shield offers excellent durability, ease of assembly, convenience of service and maintenance, and thermal insulation performance.
