The speed sensor rotor is used to detect the rotational speed of a shaft. It is typically mounted on the shaft and has evenly spaced teeth or notches around its perimeter. As the rotor turns, these teeth or notches pass the sensor, which detects the change in magnetic field and generates a signal that is used to calculate the shaft speed.
