Description
The starting motor drive is specifically designed to engage and turn the engine flywheel, starting the combustion cycle. 12 teeth refers to a small bevel pinion with 12 teeth that meshes with the individual teeth on the engine flywheel. The pinion is connected to the armature shaft of the starting motor, which is powered by the battery.
