Cat® Stainless Steel Intermediate Piston Ring
Description
Cat top piston rings are split rings that fit into grooves in the outside diameter of the piston body, located above the intermediate ring and oil ring. Piston rings form a seal between the piston body and the cylinder wall, preventing combustion gases from leaking into the crankcase, maintaining a stable lubricating oil level between the cylinder wall and the piston, and regulating engine oil consumption by scraping oil from the cylinder wall back to the sump.
