Description

The exhaust manifold collects exhaust gas from the engine cylinders and delivers it to the exhaust system. The manifold mounts directly on the engine cylinder head, making it an integral part of the engine. During the exhaust stroke, combustion by-products and unburned fuel exit each cylinder as high-temperature, high-pressure exhaust gas. These gases enter the exhaust manifold through individual ports or runners.
