Description

A set screw (also called a "grub screw" in the UK) can transmit/bear light loads and is commonly used to prevent relative motion between two parts. The cone point is used with a dowel for line-up operations. The flat point and the cylindrical point are used for flat-surface operations. The cylindrical point is sometimes used as a shear pin. The cup point is used on round surfaces and provides excellent holding power. Refer to ISO 898-5 for more details.
