Cat® 0.05 mm Thick Steel Shim
Description
A shim is a thin, flat, ring-shaped piece of metal or plastic with a hole in the center, used to distribute the load of a fastener such as a bolt or screw. Shims can also be used to adjust the distance between two objects or surfaces and to adjust the clearance between two mating surfaces or compensate for dimensional variations.
Features
- Provides a larger surface area to distribute the load and prevent surface damage.
- Prevents fasteners from loosening.
- Prevents excessive movement of components.
Applications
The shim is designed to fill the gap between mating components and is used in the final drive, spindle wheel brake, and speed sensor of adapter components.
